The Wind in The Willows by Kenneth Grahame was first published in 1908.
This is a 90-year-old edition published in 1930 by Methuen & Co Ltd, London (the original publishers of the novel). There are 20 colour illustrations by Wyndham Payne (although the only colour seems to be yellow). There are 247 pages and the size of the bound book without the case is 196mm x 147mm x 39mm. There are a few marked pages but generally it is in excellent condition.
The book has been resewn and rebound in full antiquated lime-green calfskin leather with raised bands and handmade marbled endpapers.
This book has an original gilt top edge; silk cane headbands and silk marker ribbon; blind tooling throughout with gold title and author; and a unique clamshell custom slipcase.
